Google, developer of the largest performance-based search engine, today announced that it has acquired the island nation of Iceland, deep in the middle of the northern Atlantic ocean. The purchase has business leaders around the world scratching their heads, as no one can figure out exactly why the privately-held company would spend billions to acquire a small island nation.

We at Hex deny any involvement in the deal and our sudden rush into profitability is purely coincidental.

Although larger companies currently account for the largest share of the mobile enterprise solutions market, Datamonitor predicts that the smaller two sizebands (SMBs, 10-15 employees and SME's, 51-250 employees) will represent approximately 64% of the total ($5 billion) by 2006.

This is very interesting indeed. From our perspective it's yet another indication that we're approaching things from the right perspective. We've aimed our solutions at this target segment, providing not only moblogging with an eye on team moblogging, but also communications extentions for the blogging teams.

Lost Weekend

This weekend was the Icelandic equivalent of Labor day weekend. And man was it nice. We spent it hanging out in our garden, drinking chilled Gewürstraminer with strawberries, having friends over for dinner and taking a road trip to a small cottage on the west coast.
We're a bit medium rare after this sun-filled week-end, but man, it was worth it.

We've been establishing ourselves for the past few months, and it's been a heck of a lot easier to get normal, non-techie people to understand what we're doing (and to actually use it) than it has to get investor types to cough up some cash.

However, now that we've financed this thing ourselves, and are putting months of red ink behind us (Yay!), we're lucky enough to own this ourselves, making a comfortable living and a comfortable profit from giving people access to services that help them in their day to day lives or leisure activities. And we can foresee starting monthly purchases at Amazon (Note to self: Buy Amazon stock before hitting 'Publish')
